The Natural Formations Project draws equivalence between natural formations and the ways humans form meaning. The travel experience shared by the Collective included the unique hexagon formations of Fingal’s Cave on the Isle of Staffa.

The group also journeyed to the Kilmartin Standing Stones, Carvings and Burial Cairns, investigating the demarcation of nature and natural forms.

Incorporating the site of inspiration into the works created for this exhibition, the NFP constructs an expanding network of people, experience and meaning — moving beyond the boundaries of the gallery to include a site, a collective, and a virtual space.
